ZSoftly Cloud Platform

Our Journey

Our Story

From a team of cloud engineers to an independent Canadian sovereign cloud

How It All Started

ZSoftly was born from a simple observation: businesses had only a handful of cloud providers to choose from, and all of them came with the same costs. Lock-in, unpredictable egress bills, and data sitting under foreign jurisdiction.

Our team had spent years building on the hyperscalers for clients of every size, so we saw the pattern up close. We believed organizations deserved a real alternative: a cloud that put control and sovereignty back in their hands without sacrificing capability.

So we built it. What began as cloud and DevOps engineering became an independent sovereign cloud platform we own and operate end to end, on an open-source foundation, now live across two Canadian regions and available worldwide.

Our Journey

2020

Company Founded

ZSoftly was established by cloud engineers helping businesses modernize on AWS, DevOps, and security.

2021

Team Expansion

Grew an engineering team across North America and EMEA, deepening expertise in cloud-native and platform engineering.

2022

The Sovereignty Gap

Working across the hyperscalers exposed the same pain everywhere: lock-in, egress bills, and data under foreign jurisdiction.

2023

Building the Platform

Began building an independent cloud on an open-source foundation: compute, storage, and Kubernetes we own end to end.

2025

Sovereign Cloud Beta

Launched the ZSoftly Cloud Platform into private beta in November 2025, across two Canadian regions (YUL, YOW). Closed testing only, not open to the public.

2026

Public Launch

Opened ZSoftly Cloud Platform (ZCP), Cloud Storage (ZCS), and Private Cloud Platform (ZPCP) to the public in May 2026, introducing them to businesses across Canada and the USA.

Our Founding Principles

The values that guided us from day one and continue to drive everything we do

Sovereignty by Default

Customers should never have to choose between control and convenience. Data stays under a jurisdiction they trust, enforced in the architecture.

No Lock-In

We build on an open-source foundation with $0 egress so customers can come, scale, and leave on their own terms.

Canadian Roots

Canadian-owned and independent, anchored in PIPEDA and Canadian legal stability, billed in CAD with no FX surprises.

Operated by Engineers

The engineers who build the platform are the ones who run and support it. No subcontracted operations.
