Since we opened our Montréal region, one request has kept coming up in support tickets and sales calls: “Can we get Intel in YUL, like you have in Ottawa?”
You asked. We delivered. Intel compute is now available in YUL-1.
Why Intel matters to some workloads
Most applications genuinely don’t care what silicon they run on, and our AMD EPYC plans remain the default for a reason. But some workloads do care. Commercial software with vendor-specific licensing or support matrices that only approve Intel. Legacy appliances validated against a specific processor family. Teams that standardized on Intel in Ottawa and want a familiar platform baseline as they expand to Montréal. Until now those customers had to choose between the processor they needed and the region they wanted. That trade-off is gone.
The new capacity runs on Intel Xeon Gold processors from the Intel Xeon Scalable family, using the same generation as our Ottawa Intel plans. A workload moved between regions therefore lands on a familiar platform baseline.

Everything uses the same Pro NVMe storage tier as our existing Montréal plans, and pricing is the same as equivalent AMD sizes. You pick the silicon without paying a premium for it.
Log in to the portal, choose YUL-1, and select the ci2 or cim2 family.
